Monday’s Coming

It was a cool autumn Friday morning when I jumped into my old truck and off to work, I went. Upon arrival I started my normal routine which entailed checking emails and voicemails. I worked as an estimator at an aerospace machine shop in a nearby town. It’s the last day of the work week once again and I could hardly wait for 4pm to arrive. I caught my mind constantly pondering my weekend plans and shenanigans that lay ahead. After 8hrs of clock watching 4:00pm was here! Feelings of freedom and excitement rushed through my body as I could not get on the road fast enough! Friday night was fun and Saturday did not disappoint. As the sun peered through the curtains of my bedroom window, I opened my eyes. The apathetic thought of “Monday is coming” stumbled through my mind.

Does this sound familiar? I sure hope not however, if it does your not alone! This is how I went through my life years ago. Notice I didn’t use the words “LIVED MY LIFE”, that’s because I wasn’t “LIVING”, rather existing! It is more what I would call “putting in the time” or “checking the box”. Robotically bearing each day in my own choice of enslavement. Have you ever asked yourself, why it requires 3 alarms to get yourself out of bed on Monday for work but, you wake up before the alarm ever goes off when it is time to catch the plane at the airport for your next vacation?

Folks life throws a lot of curve balls at us in a lifetime. There is a time to cry, a time to celebrate, a time to mourn and a time to rejoice. EVERYDAY is a time to “LIVE”! Ask yourself what your talents and true desires are. What were you put here to do??? Write it down and start living! It wont all be rainbows and butterflies however, if you’re living out your true purpose, Monday mornings may start to feel like Friday at 4:00pm! Good luck to you and all your dreams!

·        An open mind and a thick skin will take you far in life!
