Join us as we welcome Jason Cook and JC Horsemanship back for another 2-day clinic. This clinic will be no different than past clinics in which you will gain lots of solutions for problems, tools for sharpening your maneuvers, and a sore BUTT! If you have never attended you cant start to imagine the amount of ride time as Jason is here for each individual and will give you everything he knows.
Just some of the topics he plans to cover this visit will be backing, stopping, and rating. Does your horse bounce on its front end when you ask for the stop? Does it seem lazy in reverse? Can you work between your jog and extended trot with only your seat? These are things that you use regardless of the discipline.
We are going to do some work on the mechanical flag. If you are unfamiliar with the mechanical flag it will simulate a cow to practice boxing/cutting on. This will tie into the stopping and backing previously mentioned.
Another topic we are going to try and cover is simply cues and body position. Ever wonder how a professional horseman cues for the backup and why they do it that way? Or where do they concentrate their body weight when asking for the pivot. I think you will find out that we as riders often get in the horses way of completing its maneuver, or hinder the proficiency of it.
And Jason will address any questions that arise even if its off these topics!
